Finding Feeds
I found it easiest to find feeds by doing a Yahoo or Google search on a topic of interest. Then I went to that website and if there was a live feed I felt like I had hit the jackpot. Initially I found it easiest to get feeds from news sources. Then I expanded to topics of interest such as cooking, hockey, etc. My favorite feed is "Thought for the Day".
RSS and NEWS READERS
It was interesting exploring the vast possibilities that exist for RSS feeds. I was familiar with the links that Yahoo and MSN provided but wasn't aware that we could add feeds that were of special interest to us. It took me awhile to figure out how to add the links because I kept getting messages saying the URL address was invalid. Finally discovered that if I clicked on the feed icon the address would change and then I was able to copy and paste it into my blog.
The possibilities for the use of this technology in the classroom are incredible. What comes to mind at the moment is the ability to follow the political scene and have the very latest information. The classrooms of the future will be so different from the classrooms today.
Personally, I have a son living in Calgary and find it interesting to keep up with Calgary weather and Canadian news. The RSS feeds make it very convenient.

Exploring Technology
I'm DEFINITELY Exploring Technology!!! AND not feeling as secure as I would like to feel. The scope of what is available is mind boggling. I'm feeling uneasy about security issues and the vastness of cyberspace. Wondering if anyone else shares my concerns???!!!???
I recently joined Facebook and DO ENJOY connecting with people I know. It is especially interesting to see photos of events that we were not able to attend.

Giving this a try. Not sure if I'm on the right track but it's fun exploring.

7 habits
Hardest was easy for me to identify.............unfortunately, I find it hard to find time to PLAY....much to the dismay of my family..............SO TODAY I'm working on that......am going to the Rams game!
Easiest habit, well....I guess I do take responsibility for my own learning. Seems I'm always taking on something new. This class is a stretch for me. Haven't done on line learning before. May need words of encouragement from ya'all.
